February 2012 TESTIMONIALS... |
Acoustic Treatment: Special treatments to help make the sound in the studio as good as possible for recording, mixing and mastering. Broadly speaking these are divided into two types of materials, those that absorb excess sounds, and those that scatter and diffuse sounds. Mastering Once you have Recorded and your song has been Mixed, the final stage before burning on to a CD is called Mastering. This Mastering process makes the Mix the right volume for a commercial CD, as well as giving the song the polish and finesse of a commercial CD. If the recording and mixing were done in a home studio, the Mastering process can give the recording more 'space' and depth, correct imbalances and, to a greater or lesser extent (depending on the quality of the recording and mix), give the impression it was recorded in a spacious professional studio. Pre Production Meeting This is simply a great chance for you to visit the studio, see the space you will be playing in, meet the Engineer (and Producer if you wish) and discuss all your hopes and dreams for your project. This way, you will find out exactly what you can get for your budget before starting, so you are under no illusions as to what you can expect, and aren't taken for a ride by an unscrupulous studio. The other great thing about these meetings is all the talking and decision-making is done then, so when it comes to recording, ALL the time you're paying for is spent on doing just that - recording your music. Producer If you are new to writing songs it can be extremely helpful to have the advice of a professional Producer who can advise you with the length, content, and arrangement of your song. |
