Carrig Sound have expanded their premises! We have doubled our size from 1,000 sq ft to 2,000 sq ft and now have a flexible choice of acoustically treated spaces to use! We have a massive acoustically treated Live Room - 35ft x 20ft x 11ft high, capable of comfortably holding a 60 voice choir, or a small orchestra, with an enviable height for recording drum kits, giving their sound the space and depth they need. This currently still houses our open plan Control Section with Mackie Desk, B&W Speakers and outboard equipment. The new separate and acoustically treated 'Blue Room' is 21ft x 13ft x 9ft high, and is currently being used as a smaller separate Live Room and Voiceover Booth. Sound proofed and with fantastic acoustics, this Live Room comfortably holds a vocal quartet or acoustic band In addition we have a new Office, refreshment and chill-out areas and a private Art Studio, as well as much more storage space. For the past 2 years, Carrig Sound have operated successfully from their 1,000 sq ft premises with open plan Control Room and Live Area. This has worked very well, however when the opportunity arose to double our size, we took it! Please follow our progress with the photos and commentary below (click on a photo to enlarge):
1 & 2 are shots of the private Art Studio space. In shot 3, Liam's standing in what will be the new Control Room (currently a Live Room) looking from the Art Studio, and shot 4 will be the Control Room area (currently a Live Room). 5 is the back half of the new Control Room, which will have 2 new walls built. 6 & 7 are where we'll knock through to the existing studio, and 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 are in the process of knocking through. 13 is the new doorway looking from the existing Control/Live Room and 14 is looking through the new chill-out area (& new office/storage room to left) into our current Studio space.
